Nutmeg is a wonderfully aromatic spice with a warm, distinctive flavour. Although called a nut, it is actually the seed of a tropical fruit and is best used freshly grated for the fullest aroma.

It adds a lovely depth to soups, sauces, vegetable dishes, cheese fondue, and all kinds of potato-based meals.
